Here are two stories sharing a similar theme being distributed breathlessly by the Left:

Can a society like this last?

In the hurry to denounce the studies as Leftist agitprop, you forgot to ask whether or not the studies were good science, which is not surprising considering Republicans' tendency to treat science as a vassal.

Don't get me started on science. Socialism is proven to fail, yet millions of liberals beg for its expansion in the US. This has nothing to do with science:

People opposed to abortion aren't opposed because of potential pain experienced by a fetus.

And people opposed to the death penalty aren't opposed because of the pain a victim might experience.

They're just silly tactics being used to escape the gravity of a moral argument.

When the subject is something about which most people already have an opinion, political arguments are aimed at the undecided, a tiny minority. Most people know what they think about abortion and the death penalty. Everyone has heard all the straightforward arguments on these subjects. People on either side of the issue have to cast about for arguments that they hope will shift the balance.
